WACKER POLYMERS is the global technology leader in the development and production of redispersible powders, dispersions solid resins, powder binders and surface coating resins. At our Calvert City site, we are currently looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our growing team.


Job Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for overseeing the site wide reliability program. The incumbent will understand strategic management aspects of reliability engineering, its relationship to safety and quality, its impact on customer satisfaction, the consequence of failure, and the potential for liability. The incumbent will also understand requirements for reliability programs and how various engineering and operational systems must be integrated to achieve overall program goals and alignment with organizational goals. This employee will be required to become extremely familiar with all aspects of the site, including process flow, in order to execute the job properly

  • Use of probability and statistical tolls to analyze machinery lifecycle, conduct hypothesis testing, and understand appropriate statistical models
  • Develop and maintain process and equipment reliability requirements
  • Collect, analyze, and manage various types of data to minimize failures and improve performance
  • Identify repeat or long-term mechanical issues and work with appropriate Plant Engineers to resolve
  • Assist Core Teams in conducting RCAs when needed
  • Assist in troubleshooting reoccurring failures with Core Teams
  • Identify training programs for Maintenance group applicable to ensure proper upkeep of the various in place Reliability Programs
  • Maintain and improve existing Reliability Programs; Identify new Reliability Programs to implement
  • Work with Core Teams to develop maintenance plans (e.g. predictive maintenance, repair/replace decisions, spare parts forecasting). Assist in defining PM tasks.


  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering field(s) required
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Maintenance experience in an industrial setting, experience with rotating equipment, SAP experience, MiniTab and Excel, good communication skills, willingness to work in Core Teams, LEAN/Six Sigma certification preferred
  • ASQ CRE Body of Knowledge and practical applications of such
  • Solid understanding of predictive and preventative maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of “Maintenance Best Practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with RAGAGEP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Highly motivated, self-directed and able to work independently as well as part of a team and in a matrix environment.
