We are looking for capable, innovative, and enthusiastic achievers to join our team and grow with us. We are currently seeking a Powder Plant Engineer II at the site in Calvert City, KY.
What you will do:
The primary role of the Plant Engineer position is providing the necessary engineering & technical expertise to support the Powders production facility, as well as focusing on mechanical and process-related tasks, with a secondary focus on Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (E&IC) related tasks. These engineering aspects can include tasks such as projects, productivity improvements, process optimizations, equipment reliability, energy reduction efforts, product quality, new product trials, operations and maintenance support/troubleshooting, & computer software support.
- Provide technical support on process issues for both the production and maintenance departments. This support includes activities such as troubleshooting, maintenance reliability, optimization, data collection, programming, and safety/risk analysis.
- Serve as the lead Project Engineer for maintenance and capital projects that support the plant. This role involves overseeing the full range of project implementation from concept to completion.
- Maintain plant technical documentation, such as P&IDs, equipment files, loop sheets/functional descriptions, technical specifications, flow diagrams, SAP functional location database, & spare parts strategy.
- Manage and guide external engineering and construction contractors to ensure compliance with project or work-related tasks.
- Identify opportunities and develop methods for plant productivity improvements, energy cost reductions, and process optimization improvements.
- Support large-scale capital expenditures by advising with plant knowledge and expertise.
- Actively participate in Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs), such as Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA).
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Plant/Project Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Production Management, to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
What we need from you:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or related field)
- 0-4 years of process/production engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity with chemical unit operations and industrial equipment.
- Strong project engineering skills with the ability to lead and execute engineering projects.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, data trending software (PI Vision), Siemens COMOS, and drafting software.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations for process safety and occupational safety, including codes/regulations under Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP), such as ASME, ANSI, API, and NFPA.
- Familiarity with practices for project engineering and project management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of personnel, ranging from contractors to executive management.
- Ability to troubleshoot process/equipment problems.
- Ability to multi-task with little direct supervision.
- Be able to identify opportunities for productivity improvements and cost reductions.
- Be able to work the on-call rotation for production support.
- Basic knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies and computer distributive process control systems.
- Very good process/production troubleshooting skills
