we are looking for you as a(n) Maintenance Supervisor - I&E II.

We are currently seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor for our site in Calvert City, KY.

 

What you will do:

The Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor position is responsible for the effective execution of all electrical and instrumentation work activities - which includes but is not limited to DCS systems, SIS systems, control valve work processes, all field instrumentation, etc.  This Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and effective use of all resources to conduct maintenance activities in this area which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity.  This Supervisor is responsible for the control over quality, duration, costs, and thoroughness of the daily work.  They train and motivate their employees, make tactical decisions to stay on schedule, and perform administrative/personnel functions.  In order to fulfill these responsibilities in the most effective manner, this Supervisor is to manage work priority, engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective and efficient work control plan.  In addition, this Supervisor provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance on improving proactive and preventative maintenance and condition monitoring activities of all plant E/I equipment and systems. It is the responsibility of each employee to know, understand, and diligently practice our EH&S and Security policies and practices.

 

  • Supervise the electrical/instrument workforce to meet maintenance work schedules.  Minimize time lost between jobs, at breaks, at the end of each day.
  • Administrative/personnel functions.  Assign personnel to specific jobs unitizing their skill levels as well as providing cross-training.   Assure reasonably accurate distribution of time and materials to specific jobs.  Assure equipment history data was logged in SAP when job is completed.  Prompt and fair handling of grievances
  • Make tactical decisions to stay on schedule.  Refine and finalize labor, parts, priorities, and methods.  Communicate with planner/schedulers, operations, and engineering on delays, issues, or ask for assistance to make every effort we stay on schedule.
  • Participate and support Wacker safety programs and PPE requirements and enforce plant safety rules and good housekeeping measures.  Implement the Basic Safety Process (BSP) – Maintain a BSP score of 100% compliance and achieve zero OSHA recordables.
  • Schedule overtime to complete jobs on schedule while maintaining the overtime target for the department.    Fill out and approve Vacation Requests for the I/E Technicians.   Fill in duties of Maintenance Manager, Supervisors, Planners, and Schedulers in their absences. Assist in conducting morning “Toolbox Meetings.”
  • Interface with operations personnel to resolve daily production issues caused by all plant E/I equipment and system failures and operational errors and to improve performance of the maintenance function.  Follow up on overruns and interruptions.   Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment failures to eliminate re-work.
  • Training and Motivation of employees.  Identify and provide or obtain skills training required by each crew member.  Give adequate time and attention to formal and on-the-job training.  Act upon request for support and help.
  • Provides “On Call” for Maintenance Department
  • Implement “best practices” across the entire site to reduce maintenance spending and increase maintenance efficiencies.

 

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma required; Vocational/Technical training degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years maintenance supervisory experience in a chemical plant is preferred.
  • Experience working with or within Union labor force preferred.
  • Experience with electrical and instrumentation devices - which includes DCS systems, SIS systems, PLC systems, control valves, and all types of field instrumentation in an industrial chemical setting preferred.
  • Must have Industrial Maintenance experience, Electrical.
  • Must have solid interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must have adequate craft knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirements, and skills needed to complete a job.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to visualize and communicate execution of work.
  • Must have knowledge of electrical and instrumentation devices - which includes DCS systems, SIS systems, PLC systems, control valves, and all types of field instrumentation
  • Must have a working knowledge of electrical equipment and an understanding of basic instrumentation.
