We are currently seeking an Engineer in our Operations Support-Dispersions team for our site in Calvert City, KY.


What you will do:

The Dispersions Operations Support Engineer is the liaison between maintenance and operations. The position will primarily be tasked with troubleshooting and assisting the maintenance department in the repairs for breakdowns and identifying relevant improvement projects and assisting in the planning and execution alongside Plant and Project Engineering. This role will also be responsible for identifying, planning, and executing small scale projects and repairs via Wacker Maintenance or Contractors.


  • Liaison between Maintenance and Operations on breakdowns, especially for troubleshooting efforts
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to production engineers
  • Participate in Daily Morning Meeting
  • Identify and assist with medium to large scale improvement projects
  • Identify, plan, and implement small scale improvement projects


What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required, mechanical preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical concepts in a plant environment
  • 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial chemical setting preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word experience
  • SAP knowledge
  • Position requires strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • In addition to general process engineering knowledge, detailed knowledge of plant operations will facilitate successful recommendation and implementation of projects that meet objectives to improve plant performance in a measurable fashion (throughput, quality, on stream, safety, environmental considerations).
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively as both a team leader and as a team member
  • Ability to maintain productive relationships with superiors and peers alike
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and tasks
  • Knowledge of advanced process control concepts, basic electrical and mechanical concepts, applicable process and personnel safety considerations, and environmental regulations are integral to the position
  • Specific applications used routinely include SAP, PI ProcessBook, Microsoft Office applications, PHA Works, D3 Version 12 process control software, SharePoint.
