We are looking for capable, innovative, and enthusiastic achievers to join our team and grow with us. We are currently seeking a Dispersions Production Supervisor for our site in Calvert City, KY.
What you will do:
The Dispersions Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily operations activities including supervising operators, scheduling plant production, purchasing raw materials, managing finished goods inventory levels, and optimizing the production process. It is the responsibility of each employee to know, understand, and diligently practice our EH&S and Security policies and practices.
- Supervise hourly employees in the plant operation to meet established plant operating targets (eg. yield capacity, product quality, off-grade, waste minimization, cost reduction, etc.); 15%.
- Lead and manage the Basic Safety Process compliance efforts to achieve zero recordable injuries / LTI’s (conduct safety meetings, job safety observations, hazard awareness, audits, housekeeping inspections, and incident investigations.; 20%
- Ensure compliance with established environmental procedures and regulations. Monitor plant emissions and report emissions above action limits and initiate appropriate corrective action.; 10%.
- Set performance expectations and hold employees accountable for their actions.; 15%.
- Write hot work permits and confined space entry permits when required. Supervise confined space entries.; 15%.
- Participate in grievance hearings and provide input to management’s position. 5%
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and manage the daily maintenance activities in the plant – work orders, permits, equipment preparation, priorities, backlog, etc.; 10%.
- Schedules overtime as needed and maintains equitable distribution of planned overtime.; 10%
What we need from you:
- A high school diploma is required; advanced education in a technical or business field is preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ of supervisory experience in chemical manufacturing is required; 5-10 years’ experience is preferred
- Knowledge of inventory management, business understanding, chemical processing, safety, and environmental regulations is required.
- Experience with supervision of bargaining unit employees and/or supply chain forecasting, scheduling, and logistics is preferred.
- Computer knowledge - SAP, MS Office applications, process control computer - D/3
- Strong analytical abilities, problem solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills is needed.
- Ability to effectively supervise and manage multiple priorities and tasks.
- Experience with general, confined space and hot work permitting Lock/Tag/Try process.
- Demonstrate experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Ability to solve problems with little direction.
- Demonstrated experience in Leadership, training, coaching and counseling
- Must have some knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of plant safety rules & PPE requirements.
