At our site in Ann Arbor, we are currently looking for a ​Site Facilities & EHSS Manager​ to join our growing team.

 

Job Responsibilities

This position supervises the site services and EHSS program for the Ann Arbor Regional Headquarters and Innovation Center.  This position will be responsible for the implementation of effective facility and EHSS programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with company, state, federal, and local requirements. This position will maintain site permits, registrations, and licenses; coordinate ISO14001/ISO45001 program, with emphasis on employee participation; conduct audits of the facility and lead action item corrective action plans and facilitate site activities.

  • Maintain permits, registrations, and licenses and complete and document ongoing reviews of changes to meet permit requirements (OSHA 300 Log, Boiler permits, township, utilities reporting).
  • Interface with Property Management Company to maintain site and infrastructure (equipment, IT, communications, maintenance, parking lots, lawn mowing, snow plowing, janitorial and recycling programs, new equipment, old equipment disposition).  Manage purchase orders, invoice, and contractors and cost center spending control.
  • Support site for capital and non-capital projects; new equipment installations; and changes related to equipment or process.
  • Lead site Safety Committee and coordinate Sustainability and Safety events.  Support laboratory EHSS risk assessments, safety suggestion program and safety initiatives.  Coordinate medical monitoring programs with Occupational Health Provider.
  • Supervise site security systems, emergency response plans, emergency drills and programs, coordinate site access process, badges and with regional security.  Oversee site inspections (first aid kits re-stocking, spill kits, AED, emergency lights, fire extinguisher inspections, waste inspections).  Maintain emergency contact lists for site.
  • Manage hazardous, universal, and non-hazardous waste programs.  Supervise receiving and shipping functions.  Maintain waste profiles, waste shipping and shipping documents.
  • Consolidate and submit reports for internal and external reporting of site metrics (utilities metrics (KURT), Washtenaw Co. PPP report, refrigerant usage, injury reporting, site KPI's)
  • Lead site for Facility and ISO 14001 / ISO 9000 / ISO 45001 and other site certifications (MVPP, LEED, Wildlife Habitat, Community Programs, etc.).   Maintain documents for site in Integrated Management System.   Represent site in Management Review meetings.    Coordinate site-wide audits and visits.
  • Supervise shipping/receiving, lab sample center preparation, packaging, shipping, chemical management system process and other site services (pandemic response; pool cars, interoffice mail, storage areas, supply room, work clothing, PPE program, public inquiries, VIP visitation).
  • Lead site to obtain MVPP award and other recognition, particularly sustainability.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum BS degree in science or technical or equivalent field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of total experience with 3 years in facilities/environmental management. 
  • Working knowledge of State of Michigan and Federal Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Management System Programs
  • Knowledge of facilities management
  • High Level of interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills
  • Project management skills
  • Proficient in office software.
  • Work in a laboratory environment
