Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible to conceive, plan and conduct projects and experiments in an application laboratory supporting the Personal Care market.
- Independently works on topics that considerably drive advancements leading to the implementation of a new, sustainable raw material platform.
- Expert consultant to the technical team for a broad set of applications (skin, sun, and/or hair care, color cosmetics).
- Carries out innovative assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures that have significant business impact.
- Develops and evaluates plans and criteria taken over by development partners such as universities and/or third-party manufacturers.
- Accurately records, analyzes, and reports experimental data.
- Installation and implementation of new test equipment.
- Collaborates with internal partners to translate market needs into future project requirements.
- Contributes to all aspects of an advanced laboratory setting, with emphasis on EHS excellence.
- Communicates with internal stakeholders, both regionally and globally, to support and advance developments.
- Literature and patent search, as well as market search together with business development.
- Collaborates in international project teams and regularly mentors other technical colleagues.
Job Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree (preferred) or bachelor’s degree with sufficient experience in Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related scientific discipline.
- 9 years minimum combined experience including formulation work, performance testing, R&D in Personal Care.
- Demonstrated capability to complete all phases of technical work independently.
- Expert knowledge of materials, technologies, methods, regulations, and trends relevant for cosmetic products.
- Knowledge in the field of sustainable, renewable raw materials preferred.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Must be able to work effectively and independently.
- Strong motivation to support and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a global setting.
- Demonstrated mentoring skills in the technological field of expertise.
