At our site in Ann Arbor, we are currently looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to be a part of our growing team.
Position Summary
The Regulatory Affairs Specialist is a service-oriented position and will be responsible for performing hazard evaluation and classification for finished goods and incoming raw materials according to OSHA Hazard Communication guidelines. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will evaluate and respond to incoming internal and external customer product compliance requests and perform regulatory compliance views of Wacker product formulas for areas such as TSCA certification, FIFRA biocide compliance, CA Proposition 65 formula reviews, SVHC compliance and import and export chemical compliance. Communicate regulatory updates to Wacker business colleagues.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for day-to-day departmental functions supporting Wacker business divisions to ensure Wacker product regulatory compliance.
- Activities include: chemical hazard review and hazard classification, creating Safety Data Sheets; reviewing raw materials and lab chemical hazards; supporting Wacker's Material Approval Form process; procedure organization and maintenance; supporting SAP EH&S order and delivery issues; SAP EH&S data maintenance; and responding to customer requests
- Perform regulatory reviews of Wacker product formulas for areas such as TSCA certification, ROHS, CONEG, SVHC, and CA Proposition 65 formula reviews, HTS determinations.
- Communicate regulatory updates to Wacker business colleagues.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of TSCA, FIFRA, and EPA determinations and submissions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a science discipline; preferably chemistry or biology.
- 5+ years of related experience in the chemical industry or governmental regulatory agency
- Proficient in performing OSHA chemical hazard classification per Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling (GHS) guidelines and communicating that information within Wacker
- Demonstrate working knowledge of TSCA, HTS, FDA, FIFRA, and regulatory affairs
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- SAP WP1 and WP2
- Must have good time management skills, excellent project management skills, excellent communication skills, and must be detail oriented
