WACKER SILICONES is one of the world’s biggest silicone manufacturers with silicone-based system solutions and over 3,000 different products. At our Ann Arbor site, we are currently looking for a ​Product Manager​ to join our growing team.

 

Position Overview: 

The Product Manager is responsible for the management of standard silicone products by working closely with Sales, Supply Chain and Operations. Provides critical insights on market and competitive intelligence, to drive business decisions in a fluid market situation, where changes need to be made quickly and efficiently on a regular basis. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Implementing & achieving volume and capacity utilization targets for standard products. 
  • Establishing pricing and volume agreements within US Region, across business units and across all silicone applications. 
  • Determines which region wins volume, taking into consideration pricing and local market conditions. 
  • Providing, collecting, retaining and managing market data and competitive intelligence. 
  • Support VP of Silicones on various special projects/tasks. 
  • Monitoring of price development, strategizing on ways to maximize profits. 
  • Support Sales managers with logistical issues and volume
  • Coordination with Global Silicones Product Management (SPM) and Local Supply Chain with regard to control/handling bottleneck situation. 
  • Working closely with Distribution Management on standard products pricing and allocation

 

Required Experience/Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Business or related field. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of position related experience
  • Understanding of controlling principles. 
  • Strong networking skills with co- workers
  • ERP Systems and ability to use SAP /Business Objects to do profitability analysis. 
  • Proven ability to self-start and work with minimal supervision
  • High degree of professionalism and business ethics
  • Ability to de3vlop and implement business development strategy
  • Comfortable with making decisions in an uncertain environment
