WACKER SILICONES is one of the world’s biggest silicone manufacturers with silicone-based system solutions and over 3,000 different products. At our Ann Arbor site, we are currently looking for a ​Marketing Specialist​ to join our growing team.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide data analytics in support of the business. This involves understanding profitability of the business by industry segment and product group. Use the data to make recommendations on steering the business towards greater profitability. Collect macro demand data across the BU's, monitor sales trends, and provide adjustments to demand planning. Develops 5 year operation plan along with product group specific data in support of the business plan.        
  • Coordinate marcom strategy as developed by marketing managers and implement that strategy in industry media (print, web) as well as at trade shows. Receive leads from various sources and distribute as appropriate. May vary between SI and SE team needs.
  • Develop a market assessment for a new, potential industry segment, or marketing strategy for a smaller existing market segment. Assess the market size and attractiveness, competitor's positioning, barriers to entry, and keys to success. Quantify effort needed to support market entry or execution of the strategy.
  • Manage supply agreements and NDA's for the BU's. This involves negotiating terms with the sales managers, the legal department, the business Director, and properly routing agreements for signatures and retention. Manages allocation in times of short supply, and provides priorities of the business to supporting functions (e.g. supply chain & operations.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business, finance, or related field required
  • Minimum  four years of experience working in an area where strong analytical skills were required.
  • Strategic analysis and thinking - ability to analyze data to draw conclusions and strategic thinking .
  • Ability to interview customers, identify market trends and assess markets, and develop a preliminary marketing strategy.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration is necessary to be effective in our team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to influence others within the organization
  • Solid computer and data analysis skills; SAP & SalesForce experience or similar platforms is desirable
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while working in the larger team
