
The SAP Analyst for Sales & Distribution (SD) is responsible for supporting and improving SAP SD processes across the NCA region. This role is ideal for a motivated analyst with 3–5 years of hands‑on SD experience who enjoys partnering with business teams, resolving functional issues, and enhancing the Order‑to‑Cash (OTC) process.
You will collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and IT to provide daily support for incidents, analyze business requirements, and contribute to system enhancements aligned with global standards. This position emphasizes strong SAP SD knowledge, effective communication and analytical skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into functional SAP solutions.
Essential Functions of this Position
- Application Support & Problem Resolution
- Provide day‑to‑day support for SAP SD (sales orders, deliveries, and shipments).
- Analyze system incidents, identify root causes, and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Provide consulting support to end users on SAP functionality, process flows, and best practices.
- Business Process Analysis & Improvement
- Evaluate business process challenges and recommend system or process improvements.
- Conduct functional investigations, document findings, and present solution proposals to stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with established global standards.
- Configuration, Testing & Implementation
- Configure SAP SD functionality in collaboration with German IT teams, with the scope of configuration dependent on the candidate’s experience and growing competencies.
- Develop functional specifications for enhancements, interfaces, and reports.
- Execute testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Document system changes and procedures following IT governance standards.
- Participate in project rollouts, upgrades, and system enhancements.
- Support for SAP Release Upgrades
- Assist in SAP release upgrades by validating functional impacts to SD processes.
- Develop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts for SD functionality affected by upgrades.
- Coordinate with business testers, track testing progress, document defects, and ensure resolution prior to go‑live.
- Support cutover and hypercare activities tied to release deployments.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with global IT colleagues to harmonize solutions and maintain system consistency.
- Coordinate with other SAP functional areas (MM, FI, PP, WM) on cross‑module integrations and business process impacts.
- Provide occasional guidance or direction to junior analysts or project team members.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or related field required
- 3–5 years of experience supporting SAP SD required
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA SD processes and master data.
- Experience with configuration and support of key SD components (order management, deliveries, shipments, etc.).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to clearly document requirements, functional designs, test scripts, and process flows.
- Ability to work in a global, cross‑functional environment.
- Experience with SAP interfaces (IDocs, EDI), outputs, or integration points with MM, FI, PP, or WM.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management
- Understanding of transportation, logistics, and customer service processes.
