
Chief Financial Officer
Under the direction of the Wacker Chemie, AG CFO Executive Board Member and the President of WCC, the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer is responsible for directing, planning, and organizing controlling functions surrounding the financial performances of the US. With approximate sales of $1 Billion and 1,800 employees. This function manages a staff of 5 Directors that lead the areas of Controlling, Credit, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Tax, I.T. Procurement, Logistics, and General Ledger, supporting 4 business divisions with 10 corresponding locations. This position includes some board and fiduciary responsibility at WCC/WPNA/WBU.
- Working within the global matrix to enable strong financial performance of the United States region with approximately $1 Bn million in sales and 1,800 employees. Manages a staff of 5 directors that lead the areas of Controlling, Credit, AP, Treasury, Tax, IT, Procurement, and Logistics, supporting 4 business divisions at 10 locations.
- Responsible for the formulation and issuance of accounting policies and practices that are compatible with the international parent company and U.S. accounting requirements.
- Appraises the corporation's financial position by consolidating and interpreting monthly financial and operating reports to all levels of management both in Germany and U.S. This includes the formulation of accounting policies, the preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required.
- Coordinates and administers an adequate plan for the control of operations. Such a plan provides, profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, accounts receivable, cost standards and saving opportunities, and capital investing, together with the necessary controls and procedures to effectuate the plan.
- Through leading the Procurement and Logistics functions, ensure that efficiencies and cost saving opportunities are implemented to support the business divisions objectives.
- Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal and external auditing and assuring proper insurance coverage. Also responsible for approving customer credit limit and terms above a pre-determined dollar amount.
Requirements
- Master's degree in accounting or a related field or an MBA.
- 15+ years of related experience including time working in a global matrix environment
- CPA highly recommended.
- Working knowledge of accounting and settlement (A&S) and Capital expenditure project management
- 30+% (frequently in the region and some international travel)
- Strategic and analytical analysis at Executive/Board level. Major experience in strong team development across business and site management units. Ability to collaborate support across other non-financial areas.
- Candidate must have strong personal presence, highly intellectual knowledge developing and ability to sell what financials can be achieved in the American markets.
- Candidate with a very diverse executive experience capable of doing broad responsibilities beyond the normal/typical financial role.
- Strong collaborative spirit and ambassador for strong inclusive corporate culture. Demonstrative ability to lead and develop leaders across multiple functions.
- Desirable to have international experience in a matrix organization with European headquarters which would lead to regional profit opportunities and support local business management in their business focus.
- Candidate must have the highest level of integrity and display emotional intelligence.
- Responsible for directing the information and data integrity of the enterprises Information Services and practices that are compatible with the parent company.
- Establishes and implements a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the Business Plan including 5-year BP planning.
