
The Chemist I/II/III (for Pulp and Industrial Defoamer market)'s primary duties are:
- Project based lab developments/testing/analysis on Silicone products/formulations for industries such as Pulp and paper, Oil & Gas, Food and Agro
- Production and QA support: new product scale up, addressing a customer complaint or QA/process improvement of an existing product
- Supporting the sales process: SF sample request; MAF/MOC, shelf-life extension; scrap request etc.
- Lab maintenance: Keep lab in a professional manner; set up and maintain testing equipment, upgrade the lab as needed.
- The Chemist I/II/III role requires up to 30% travel for customer visits and attending conferences/trade shows.
Position Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in organic/polymer chemistry is required. Masters and PhD in relevant topics are preferred.
- Basic lab skills (organic and polymer synthesis or formulation) are required; We prefer candidates with experience with analytical tools such as NMR, GC-MS, SEC, AFM, particle size analyzer, etc. for evaluating materials.
- Ability to learn new things quickly, a strong problem-solving and multi-tasking ability and mindset is required. Can analyze a technical issue thoroughly and find solution independently or with limited instruction.
- Need to have ability to see/organize/summarize lab experiments and data into a precise lab report/presentation and draw proper conclusion. Statistical analysis and statistical design of experiment are highly preferred, but not necessary.
- Good communication (oral and written) and team collaborations is required.
