WACKER SILICONES is one of the world’s biggest silicone manufacturers with silicone-based system solutions and over 3,000 different products. At our Ann Arbor site, we are currently looking for a ​Business Development Manager​ to join our growing team.

 

The Silicone SE Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new opportunities for the Engineering Silicones business. The purpose of this role is to increase the project pipeline which leads to future sales and revenue growth.

 

Essential Job Function 

  • Grow and expand the business for elastomers with existing customers within the region through the development of application and markets.  Identifying unmet market needs and recognizing opportunities for innovation; creating and implementing market segment strategies.  Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
  • Prospect for new customers and markets. Present product benefits, Research new markets, plan strategy for entering marketplace to maximize revenue.  Follow strategy and provide input to Technical marketing (Germany & USA) and sales associates in the Americas Region.  Acquisition of new business and new customers within the region.
  • Manage the distributors associated with the markets by providing support and direction to them that will continue to expand and grow the projects and markets.
  • In conjunction with the Sales Managers, systematically collect, analyze and present market and competitor information to support our strategy.  Developing short- and long-range strategic business planning; support market focus teams in the development and implementation of action plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage internal controls collaborating with CSR and Logistics. Communicate delivery, regulatory and quality issues.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor client data within the internal software and able to create and provide reports from the software. (APO system, Sales Force).
