At our Amsterdam-based center Wacker Biotech B.V. focuses on the GMPcompliant microbial based production of recombinant proteins, vaccines and live microbials as drug substance and drug product.

The Head of Quality Assurance is responsible for the quality aspects locally for the facility of Wacker Biotech B.V.  He/she works in close relationship with the other departments, other Wacker Biotech sites and the Director Global QA to assure the business continuity and that the commitments with the clients are fulfilled in a timely manner and according to the quality standards. The Head of Quality Assurance reports to the Managing Director and is member of the Management Team.
 

Job responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Quality Assurance Organization (~20 people);
  • Keep quality oversight of all GMP-related activities performed at the site and report in Management Team meetings;
  • Act as the focal point for major quality issues and resolution;
  • Assure the timely review and disposition of batches according to planning;
  • Must be skilled in planning and organizing, decision-making, and building relationships. Internally and with client QA peers;
  • Strong knowledge of quality processes, including deviations, investigations, CAPA and change control;
  • Must represent as host the site in client audits and authority inspections.

 

Qualifications required:

To fulfil this broad function, Wacker Biotech BV is looking for a person with strong organizational skills, who can keep track of a wide variety of activities;

    • HBO/University degree in pharmacy, medical biology, biochemistry, or biotechnology;
    • A minimum of 7 years of work experience in the (bio)pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years of management experience;
    • Strong in coaching personnel with different educational levels;
    • Must be action-oriented and skilled in decision-making, building relationships, problem solving, conflict management, planning and organizing and resource allocation;
    • You reside in and are eligible to work in The Netherlands (valid work permit).
