At our Amsterdam-based center Wacker Biotech B.V. focuses on the GMPcompliant microbial based production of recombinant proteins, vaccines and live microbials as drug substance and drug product.

 

To strengthen our team in Amsterdam,
we are looking for you as a(n) BPD - (Jr.) Scientist USP/Microbiology

 

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Development and transfer from customer of processes around USP/Fermentation/Live Biotherapeutic Products;
  • Set up/develop microbial testing methods (e.g. (viable) cell counts, microscopy, purity);
  • Planning, execution and reporting of USP small-scale/laboratory runs together with Head USP and technician/scientist;
  • Transfer of developed and customer processes to the (GMP) production department of AMS and other Wacker Biotech locations;
  • Participate in Project teams including communication to customers of Wacker Biotech;
  • Identify opportunities and propose improvements/investments that lead to higher quality or efficiency of the organization;
  • Responsible for appropriate safety compliance.

 

Qualifications required:

  • At least a BSc level of education in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences;
  • Experience with microbial culturing (medium preparation, inoculation, fermentation), and microbiological analytical methods (e.g. (viable) cell counts, microscopy, FACS);
  • Accurate, structured, flexible, and quality and safety-conscious;
  • Team player with a high degree of autonomy;
  • Good Dutch and English written and oral communicative skills;
  • You reside in the Netherlands and you have a valid work permit to work in the Netherlands..
