At our site in Allentown, we are currently looking for a ​Strategic Supply Chain Planner​ to join our growing team.


Job Responsibilities

The Strategic Supply Chain Planner directly promotes the establishment of best in class planning processes across Division L in the NCA region.  The position will support Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) as well as Supply Planning for the region.  This involves the use of the SAP module APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization) to create supply plans over the 18 month S&OP horizon.  The individual will be involved in project initiatives and policy development to support the business strategy. The Strategic Supply Chain Planner will help coordinate all necessary activities between the cross functional and regional groups.  This position will assist in facilitating and driving projects to conclusion while also identifying opportunities for improvement in existing business processes and developing effective solutions.


  • Develop Production Plans based on the updated Demand Plan and Inventory objectives in support of the Sales and Operations Planning process.  Coordinate with local Operational Supply Chain to determine the current capability of each manufacturing facility to meet the master production plan. 
  • Develop and analyze Rough-Cut Capacity Plans based on the updated Production Plans.  Maintain the master data integrity of the current and future data used in the Rough Cut Capacity Planning system.
  • From the master plan, develop demand requirements for key raw materials/resources so that planning for these raw materials/resources can be coordinated across the manufacturing and purchasing organizations.  Provide input for planning of critical raw materials in centralized data cockpits.
  • Identify where production levels appear out of balance with demand. Make recommendations to manufacturing management to alter production plans accordingly or recommend to the Customer Support and/or Demand Manager that the demand plan and/or sourcing must be modified.
  • Lead the LNB S&OP process meetings and provide the Supply Plan for the LNB and LNC monthly business team and executive review S&OP meetings.  Drive S&OP improvements and issue resolutions.  Coordinate team activities as needed.
  • Support key L-O-SP strategies and initiatives specifically in the area of Tactical S&OP planning and drive improvements in our supply chain planning processes.
  • Support specific cross-functional projects directed towards improving planning, profitability, productivity and service levels.





  • Undergraduate business, technical or supply chain management degree required
  • Minimum 1 year of Chemical, Supply Chain or other similar Industrial experience.   
  • Minimum 3 years of SAP and directly applicable project, product or supply chain experience.
  • APICS, CSCP, CPIM, Logistics knowledge, Six Sigma Training preferred.
  • Experience with Excel, SAP APO, SAP R/3 and SAP Business Objects. 
  • General supply chain knowledge including demand, supply, inventory, production, raw material, and logistics planning. 
  • Individual should be knowledgeable about the S&OP process as well as the use of SAP R3 and APO systems. 
  • Individual should possess the analytical skills to support fact based decision-making. 
  • Individual should work proactively across the broad range of functional organizations that support the business utilizing influence skills as necessary, supporting change initiatives, and ensure optimum business results.
  • The Strategic Supply Chain Planner must foster teamwork, have strong communication skills, and work effectively with higher levels of management in the organization
