WACKER POLYMERS is the global technology leader in the development and production of redispersible powders, dispersions solid resins, powder binders and surface coating resins. At our Allentown site, we are currently looking for a Marketing Manager to join our growing team.

 

Job Responsibilities

This position is accountable for delivering on the marketing responsibilities for the Resins and Coatings segments within LNM. This individual is responsible for defining and executing the regional business strategy that consistently links to the long-term global market strategies achieving our revenue and profit targets within the NCA region.

This individual will report to the LNM Senior Director of Marketing. The Resins market requires extensive alignment across the global Wacker team to execute on our regional strategic plan including product introductions, business development initiatives, and project management leadership.

 

  • Deliver on profitability and revenue targets for the defined markets (BP1 – BP5), which includes effective portfolio market share and price/margin management. Regional responsibility includes North and Central American regions.
  • Strategy development and implementation within the defined markets while gaining alignment across the matrix business team with specific regional strategy implementation. Leads regional SKL five year planning process for defined markets.
  • Lead for the contract negotiation strategy, planning and execution which includes select customer contracts including complex commercial positioning during the negotiations. This requires strong regional and global alignment for the select customers with alignment across the most senior Wacker leadership at the main accounts (top 3-5)
  • Responsible for anticipating, understanding and managing the impact of changes in the competitive environment, new technology, and downstream markets along with implementing business development and global project/process initiatives within these areas.
  • Establishing effective working relationships with representatives across the broader Wacker organization is essential.

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate technical degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related sciences with a Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of broad business management experience in a global specialty materials chemicals environment with a matrix structure, which could include some technical functional roles.
  • Minimum 5 years in sales and marketing management or in a role that heavily interfaces-supports these functions. Some exposure to integrated supply chain or operational focus preferred.
  • Broad business background in sales, marketing, technology, commercial development, and supply chain functions.
  • Experience operating in a highly matrixed global organization preferably in specialty chemical (dispersions and resins) markets.
  • Experience and understanding in managing complex customers and maintaining - expanding key positions at complicated accounts that represent market leaders in their respective segments.
  • Managing or heavily interfacing with technology organizations focused on product development, application development, technical service, and asset optimization is key.
  • Leadership and influence skills - especially across a matrixed organization.
  • Highly motivated and results oriented - willingness to accept personal responsibility and accountability for results of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to drive and implement change.
  • Ability to define strategic direction and then translate into actionable objectives to be executed across the matrix (business) team and negotiate contractual agreements.
  • Personnel and organizational development and ability to manage within multi-cultural business settings
