WACKER POLYMERS is the global technology leader in the development and production of redispersible powders, dispersions solid resins, powder binders and surface coating resins. At our Allentown site, we are currently looking for a Marketing Manager to join our growing team.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • This position is responsible for delivering on the long term revenue and profit dollar targets for the Adhesives dispersions core market and for executing on the strategic regional business and portfolio plans in the NCA region.
  • Effectively managing within and across the functional matrix will be needed to deliver on key objectives. This individual will report locally to Polymers NCA Sr. Marketing Director and establishing effective working relationships with representatives of the entire functional organization is essential
  • This role has accountability for Adhesives key dispersions contract management/negotiations, pricing strategy, market segment share maximization, portfolio management, customer segmentation, and contributes to several global initiatives related to commercial management processes. There could be changes to specific market responsibilities, but still consistent with the defined accountabilities and metrics. Managing to the key portfolio metrics will be leading indicators of success.
  • Deliver on Revenue, Volume, and Profitability targets for the defined Adhesives core dispersions market segments including $40 million / yr. in sales revenue
  • Ability to align/execute in a multi-functional organization to deliver business results – including effective lead and alignment of portfolio objectives across the customer team.        
  • Develop key external relationships and assure effective channel management (e.g. primarily global customers in the region and trade organizations) to allow for maximization of contribution margin.
  • Accountability for contract management/negotiation, setting pricing and profitability strategy, market-portfolio segment share maximization and customer segmentation.
  • Support other Wacker and LDU projects related to business processes, pricing, and marketing.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/relevant technical discipline or Marketing, Business or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and/or marketing in the chemical industry.  Alternatively, experience in commercial development with responsibility for new product, market and value chain creation, or in application technology support and development will be considered.
  • Travel  up to 30% both domestic and international
  • Experience in Sales, Marketing for a market segment, or Commercial Development.
  • Experience leading and operating in a matrix organization, preferable in specialty chemical markets.
  • Exceptional leadership and influence skills. Indirectly aligns with Sales, Marketing, AD/TS colleagues across the matrix team.
  • Highly motivated and results oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive and implement change.
  • Team oriented with respect for the need and importance of individual contribution. 
  • Proficiency with SAP business warehouse, SalesForce, and Microsoft Office Suite of software.
