WACKER POLYMERS is the global technology leader in the development and production of redispersible powders, dispersions solid resins, powder binders and surface coating resins. At our Allentown site, we are currently looking for a Lab Technician to join our growing team.


The Lab Technician position is responsible for safely performing internal and external customers' product development and/or technical projects by performing general lab work including preparation and testing of materials. The Lab Technician also achieves the goals and targets set by the Technical Service Manager for favorably impacting business results. Lastly, they will support the technical team by interacting in a positive manner with colleagues and training others.


Job Responsibilities

  • Safely perform physical testing on mortars, dispersions, and coatings.
  • Formulate mortars and coatings     
  • Characterize Wacker dispersible polymer powders and dispersions.
  • Maintain lab equipment and work area
  • Transfer data to electronic format (typically Excel spreadsheet)  



  • High School diploma or GED.    
  • 3 years relevant experience 
  • Laboratory experience or equivalent practical experience, ideally with construction materials    
  • Travel  Up to 5%
  • Ability to understand and conduct standardized tests in a laboratory environment.
  • Technical aptitude, time management, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to run basic application tests..
  • Knowledge of construction industry and specifically construction materials a plus.
