WACKER POLYMERS is the global technology leader in the development and production of redispersible powders, dispersions solid resins, powder binders and surface coating resins.
At our Allentown site, we are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to be a part of our growing team.

 

 

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and securing  new business opportunities / applications / market segments (such as specialty coatings) within the North American region for existing VINNAPAS(R) products, and/or developmental VINNAPAS(R) products.  Implement and execute an ideation process for assessing and developing potential new opportunities, while coordinating with global WACKER Business Development team.  Gain alignment and shared resources to pursue opportunities identified.

 

Job Responsibilities

Take input from technical experts/scouts or external consultants and use these inputs to identify and vet opportunities within current markets.  Works in a highly ambiguous environment.  Leads and assists in creating demand and recruiting potential new customers.  Works independently and with limited supervision to plan and accomplish goals.  Identifies and develops strategic relationships with future customers, trade organizations, authority management, etc. 

 

  • Identifies/develops/wins new and profitable positions for LNC.
  • Supports new product development and commercialization process.
  • Provides regular updates and reports.
  • Leads/supports BD projects underway
  • Participates in appropriate trade associations
  • Creates business plans for selected projects and external partnerships and/or alliances.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field
  • 4+ years relevant sales experience
  • Polymer dispersion applications, formulation and project experience
  • Familiarity with several dispersion applications
  • Works well in a highly ambiguous environment
  • Has good balance of technical acumen, commercial focus and strategic thinking
  • Good negotiating / commercial skills
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate seamless internal / external and inter-regional project / business success.
  • Masters or PhD Chemistry or engineering discipline
