we are looking for you as a(n) Productivity Intern.

As one of the world’s most research-intensive chemical companies, we have been developing leading solutions for numerous sectors – from construction to photovoltaics and cosmetics to rubber –for over 100 years. We have a global presence with production sites on three continents and 14,500 employees from 70 nations.

WACKER North America is looking for several highly motivated college students for our 12-week summer internship program at our Manufacturing Site in Adrian, MI.

As Wacker moves forward, a multitude of projects center around accommodating the loss of workforce (FTE) hours, maximizing efficiency, upgrading legacy practices to meet today's needs, and more. Digitalization accelerates information flow, increases the power of analytics and automates much of the execution, which greatly condenses the decision/execution time horizons, allowing strategic business decisions to be made in real-time, and the results to be visible and available almost immediately.

Rollout digitalization and/or automation platforms to Adrian
Sitewide 5s implementation

Secondary Project Focus:

Understanding Wacker's digital tools; Parsable, Tableau, Shiftbook, Pica, SAP
Collect Adrian's needs (projects) for these tools
Integrate and rollout solutions

Project Objectives:

All departments have been made aware of digital tools
All departments have received and overview of tools, i.e. what the benefits are, how each department can utilize the tools
Programs (Parsable, Tableau) have been written to meet the needs of departments

Position Qualifications:

Currently a rising sophomore or higher and attending school to obtain a college degree in the field of Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Available full-time in person commitment (Monday through Friday) from May 19th through August 8th
Ability to follow safety procedures
Basic laboratory skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Effective time-management abilities
Ability to positively present our company
