Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct and complete training of all employees on the assigned process trains to ensure safe, quality, timely production to meet customer demand
- Ensure all process changes, upgrades and issues (ie breakdowns) are communicated to the affected employees
- Ensure appropriate EHS&S practices/policies are identified and followed
- Work with support groups to satisfy customer demand
- Be involved in safe operations within the Adrian site. This includes PSM compliance, 5 why or other root cause investigations for Level 1 and any assigned Level 2 incidents, completion of assigned projects, STOP, etc.
- Train all operators and shift supervision on the process trains to ensure safe, productive and quality production. Develop and maintain complete, current and accurate EOI's, JSA's, and other Standard Work documents. Matrix training schedules will be maintained for qualification of new operators and revalidation of existing operators and shift supervisors.
- Continuous Improvement - In conjunction with Process Chemists, perform continual optimization of process train through the use of six-sigma, 5S, Lean, WOS and other tools / programs to improve yield, quality and reduce cost. Ensure sustainment of any improvement activities.
- Compliance with all company systems and procedures. The PTS will comply with and enforce all company systems and procedures including management of change, relevant external certification programs, safety code of conduct, plant and department rules, safety SOP's, emergency action manuals, etc.
- Coordination with Engineering and Maintenance - Maintenance and upgrade of equipment. The PTS will maintain equipment by meeting with the maintenance department and engineering staff to prioritize and schedule maintenance work. Identify the need and frequency for maintenance PM's with the assistance of maintenance and engineering. Evaluate operator suggestions for improved operation and execution of operator suggestions that make operational and economic sense. Function as man rep on investment projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in appropriate technical field, organizational management/production is required.
- Minimum one year of experience in chemical processing - batch and continuous, direct manufacturing supervision required.
- Knowledge and understanding of batch and continuous chemical processes, as well as ancillary systems such as steam jet and mechanical vacuum systems.
- Have a good mechanical aptitude to conduct root cause analysis / incident investigation and troubleshoot for quality and equipment issues
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Have strong time management skills.
