Job Responsibilities
- Repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, including conveying systems, pumps, mixers, kneaders, extruders, piping and electrical distribution and controls.
- Troubleshooting of malfunctioning equipment, including field investigation, interpretation of drawings and documentation, adjustment and testing.
- Documenting work completed or in-process and hours worked per work order.
- Participation in training, both as a trainer and a trainee, in techniques, equipment and safety.
- Participation in other activities as required, including store room work, shop clean-up, general labor such as facilities repairs and construction.
Qualifications Required
- Prefer a Journeyman Certificate as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, Pipe fitter or Electrician.
- Will accept completion of an approved apprentice program or minimum 4 years industrial mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience, boiler and/or wastewater operations experience.
- Ability to read, understand and correctly interpret technical specification and design documents and drawings.
- Ability to work in a team environment with all other mechanics acting as both a leader and a follower, as needed.
- Sound written and verbal skills to share and receive information with a variety of team members and external agents.
- Ability to work with power and hand tools, drive a fork truck or other industrial vehicle.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in elevated areas and in confined spaces.
