WACKER SILICONES is one of the world’s biggest silicone manufacturers with silicone-based system solutions and over 3,000 different products. At our Adrian site, we are currently looking for a ​Lab Technician​ to join our growing team.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

This position will report to the Technical Manager within Industrial Silicones and support various activities in  Wound Care Adhesives team and Automotive, Industrial and Mold Making market segments. The responsibilities of this position support product development for room temperature (RTV) and heat curing silicone elastomers to contribute new business generation. 

  • Support product development with focus on General Industry applications by mixing and testing formulations with lab mixers and various physical/mechanical test equipment.
  • Prepare customer samples, conduct quality tests by following company internal and ASTM methods to ensure materials meet specifications.
  • Maintain lab equipment and manage material inventory; keep a clean, safe and orderly lab working environment

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a similar role , 3 years of experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision by following guidelines and procedures
  • Attention to details and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Good analytical skills with aptitude for root cause analysis
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, a team player
  • Experience in using lab mixers and elastomer test equipment a plus
