At our Adrian site, we are currently looking for a(n) ​Construction Supervisor​ to be a part of our growing team.



Job Responsibilities

As a Construction Supervisor, the associate will evaluate and schedule planned contractor work using SAP software and emphasizing the safety of the employees and external resources. This position will act as the coordinator for planned contractor activities and as the principle contact between the maintenance, engineering and operations departments. Help ensure the area, department or facility in which they are assigned receives safe and professional maintenance service in a timely manner.  In addition, this position will:

  • Prepare work notifications and purchase requisitions for services and parts and provide approval authorizations for purchases up to $10,000 in value.
  • Provide daily monitoring of contractor activity, as well as fitness to perform assigned duties, based on experience and, as necessary, certification.
  • See that all contractor activities are carried out in accordance with pertinent regulations, company requirements or industry codes and standards
  • Provide input into the contractor approval and/or onboarding process to ensure safe work on the site and to support the company's safety culture
  • Plan and schedule contractor services in order to maintain regulatory compliance of production units, utility and infrastructure systems
  • Assist in the development of the infrastructure group/organization and related guidelines, processes, and procedures
  • Participate in or lead safety incident investigations, root-cause analyses (RCAs) and audits involving or affecting contractors
  • Support "best practices" between production areas
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost
  • Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams
  • Represent WACKER'S interests towards authorities, suppliers, and contractors
  • Compile and provide reports related to contractor activities, including skills verification and standards compliance
  • Use SAP effectively to accomplish and document required contractor work in an efficient and organized manner
  • Support development of specifications, standards, and codes
  • Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Maintenance, Utilities & Infrastructure department, Operations, Plant Engineers, and other service units with focus on achieving optimal results/solutions from a corporate/enterprise perspective
  • Perform all tasks and assignments in accordance with WACKER'S policies and procedures



  • 7+ years of experience in construction in an industrial setting. Industrial maintenance, maintenance planning and/or supervisory experience required.
  • Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial construction, including relevant regulations, standards and codes #Adequate craft knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirements and skills needed to complete a job
  • A demonstrated ability to visualize and communicate the execution of work and to write or provide simple and accurate instructions
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and Construction practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be approachable and tactful
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use SAP maintenance software to input data and research orders, parts and job history
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure
  • Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements
  • Ability to read and understand complex diagrams, including building, site and underground drawings, as well as machine, piping, and process flow drawings
  • Understanding of the construction and maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling, and storeroom processes
  • Ability to meet the essential functions of the job
  • Willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts if needed occasionally for training or special project purposes
  • Ability and willingness for occasional domestic and international travel
